On Monday, November 9, 2009 HP and ASI will kick off a business and key community entity initiative with 25 small businesses in the Village of Suffern and Town of Ramapo, NY at the historic Lafayette Theatre, 97 Lafayette Avenue, Suffern, NY 10901. The community is invited!

Together, with ASI System Integration, an HP Office Printing Partner in New York City, HP will install 25 HP LaserJet P2055d printers and share key printing practices – such as duplex printing, HP Smart Web Printing and turning off the printer when not in use – to help the businesses reduce their carbon footprint, paper use and energy consumption. To better manage the printers’ environmental settings, the businesses will also download the new HP Eco Solutions Print Console later this winter when the software is released to continue to be more responsible when hitting print.

As a result of this community project, select small businesses and key community entities in the Village of Suffern and Town of Ramapo, NY could reduce their energy consumption by up to 60 percent, carbon footprint by up to 41 percent, paper use by up to 37 percent, and energy and paper costs by up to 38 percent.(3)

(3) Estimated environmental savings calculated using the HP Carbon Footprint Calculator. Results assumed using the HP LaserJet P2055d, power off, HP Smart Web Printing and duplex printing.

In addition, HP will use it latest Graphics Eco Solutions and feature 8 local/regional artists/photographer/photo journalists’ works printed large and on eco-friendly materials that hang inside the Lafayette Theatre event and on a number of Downtown businesses and merchants storefront windows.
